We are Lucy* and John* a British couple whose daughter, Emily*, was born in the US through surrogacy in May 2017. When we started out, we found few resources for couples like us. So we made our own, to help the next couple. This is our story.

This website has been designed for British couples who are considering starting a family through international surrogacy, particularly in the United States of America.

It tells our story. We are a young(ish) British couple, whose first child, a beautiful daughter called Emily, was born through surrogacy in the United States in May 2017.

International surrogacy is a complex process and is regulated by law. This website is designed to give interested couples a practical guide as to the process, from our personal perspective. It is not a substitute for taking specific legal advice and we would recommend that you to do so at an early stage in your planning. We recommend Natalie Gamble and her team at Natalie Gamble Associates (www.ngalaw.co.uk) for English legal advice.

In creating this site we have been as candid and as detailed as possible. However, if you have any questions or comments on what you have read and you think we may be able to help, please don't hesitate to contact us at transatlanticsurrogacy@gmail.com. We would be happy to help.

Our daughter's birth was the most magical moment, and every day she brings light and love into our lives.

International surrogacy is not an easy option. It certainly isn't a cheap option. And before you embark on it you should think carefully about whether it is right for you. Through this website we hope to share with you our experience, and give you some tips that may just make the process that much easier to follow.

At the end of it, your very own Emily may be waiting...
